X-Ray Imatek S.L. aims to make x-ray imaging better for all kinds of applications such as quality control, security or medical. Our unique technology, can be optimized for each field of application, and produces systems which are fundamentally more affordable and at the same time give a higher image quality at lower radiation levels.

To reach this goal, the company places much emphasis on R&D and it has developed a unique and innovative technology.

The company is a spin-off of the IFAE High Energy Physics Institute of Barcelona, and it was founded in June 2006. It is now established at the UAB Research Park in the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and employs a highly skilled technical team. The company also maintain a very good collaborative relation with several technological centers at the university and it is therefore in great position to offer its state-of-the-art x-ray detector solutions.

The management team, including the Spanish company EMSOR, is the majority shareholder and has completed successfully a first round of financing led by Inveready SCR.
